*Courses and Workshops are separate from the core meeting and have a separate registration fee.

In-Depth Symposium
Address an important problem and/or gap in knowledge on a particular subject, with a diversity of knowledge and/or points of view presented by 1 convener and 2 speakers. For most but not all sessions, appropriate oral abstract presentations (selected from accepted abstracts) are included in the session.

Mini Conferences
An extended session or series of sessions focused on a specific subject area in the microbial sciences.

Cross-Track Syposium
Focus on interdisciplinary topics of broad interest and showcase transcendent science with 1 convener and 3 speakers presenting. The session concludes with a 30-minute panel discussion with the convener leading the speaker/attendee QA. These sessions provide an opportunity to expand scientific knowledge and better understand new trends in the field of microbiology.

Meet-the-Experts
One expert addresses an important problem and/or gap in knowledge on a particular subject in short, 20-minute presentations, allowing 30 minutes for audience interaction with the expert following the talks.

Track Hubs
Short, highly interactive session on a track-specific topic held in informal, open space hubs on the Exhibit and Poster Hall, with 1 speaker.
